Barkly Highway State School, MOUNT ISA
|
2009 is here!
Barkly Highway State School is celebrating 50 years of educating children in Mount Isa!! School celebrations started on the first day of the school year with a special parade with drizzling rain. Mr Steve de Kruijff, (fifth student enrolled in 1959) spoke on his schoolboy memories to the students, staff and parents and then assisted the school captains to cut the birthday cake.
The school's P&C Committee weekend of activities organised for the 15th - 17th May was a great success. The weekend celebrations commenced with the annual school fete, followed by the anniversary dinner and concluded with a school open day / picnic. Many past students and family members came along and celebrated our great school's sucesses!
