The Mount Isa District Integrated Curriculum (IC) Roadmap which identifies Essential Learnings and the genre focus for students in Years 1-7 has been implemented by all Mount Isa schools over the last few years. The IC Curriculum integrates the areas of Science, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), The Arts, Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Technology.

At Barkly Highway State School, classroom teachers provide learning experiences to ensure all students can demonstrate their learning throughout the term by completing classroom based assessment tasks. The IC Tasks / details and Genre Criteria documents are listed below for each year level. Please contact your child's teacher for more information or a printed copy of documents if required.
