100 Days of Prep

100th Day of Prep!
On Friday 14 July, Barkly Highway State School’s Prep classes celebrated their 100th day of school. It’s a fun way to teach basic math concepts to children including counting, sorting, measuring, sequencing, graphing and classifying.
The teachers have built anticipation from the very first day of school. As a class they counted each day they attended school, one by one, until they reached the 100th day. They had many hands-on activities planned for the students to engage in on this special day.
Activities  included:
·         Reading 100 books during the day
·         Icing 100 cupcakes
·         Building a paper chain with 100 links
·         Completing 100 exercises
·         Making necklaces with 100 fruit loops
·         Writing 100 words from around the classroom.
·         Collecting 100 cans of food to donate to the Good Shepherd Parish
Students were encouraged to create a t-shirt to be worn on the day that displayed 100 items. Designs included 100 googly eyes, 100 stickers, 100 feathers and many more!
