Naiima, Capree, Keithan and Miranda
The Junior Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aspirations Program (ATSIAP) took place on Wednesday 19 September at Spinifex Senior Campus.

Naiima 5G, Capree 5B, Keithan 4/5G and Miranda 5G represented Barkly Highway State School and through teamwork, perseverance and creativity, placed second overall. The theme of this years ATSIAP challenge was 'Because of her we can'. Challenges focused around that theme and included: art, poetry, oral persuasive speech, team quiz challenge and a commercial challenge. The Barkly Highway State School team achieved second place for the commercial challenge, third place for the oral persuasive speech and second place overall. The most important achievement was that students were able to immerse themselves and connect with their culture in a day that was fun, productive and allowed all students to shine. We cannot wait to go back next year!
